Sensitive skin

This skin type features skin that is most prone to irritation like itchiness or burning sensation. It does not matter if a person has dry, oily or combination or normal for it to be sensitive. People with sensitive skin are more prone to having external irritants which cause the sensitivity to flare up such as fragrances or exposure to sunlight. It is key for a person to avoid being exposed to the substances that make their skin irritated. Taking care of this skin type should include a cleanser that is not harsh and does not contain strong scents and toxic substances like parabens.

Other tips that one should follow in creating a good skincare routine are;

  1. Using sunscreen. This prevents exposure of strong UV rays to the skin which lead to sunburn, skin cancer and premature skin ageing. Sunscreen should be used on a daily basis.
  1. Drinking water. The skin is the largest organ in the human body. Drinking enough water daily leads to hydration of the skin, maintains skin elasticity, flushes out toxins and keeps the skin moisturized and healthy.
  1. Diet. A healthy diet should constitute of healthy fats, proteins, starch, nutrients and vitamins.
